International Coastal Cleanup Day

  • Reeves Park Beach Park Road Riverhead, NY, 11901 United States (map)

Join us at Reeves Park Beach, on the end of Park Road in Riverhead 9-11am or Breakwater Beach in Mattituck 1-3pm.

Please bring gloves and a bucket. We will also have gloves and bags available.

We clean the beach because:

  1. Protects wildlife – Animals like turtles, birds, and fish can mistake trash for food or get tangled in it. Cleaning up helps keep them safe.

  2. Keeps water healthy – Trash and chemicals on beaches can wash into the ocean, harming sea life and even people who swim there.

  3. Prevents pollution – Plastics and other waste break down very slowly, so removing them keeps the environment cleaner for a long time.

  4. Helps people enjoy beaches – Clean beaches are more fun, safe, and beautiful for everyone to visit.

  5. Sets a good example – When people see others caring for nature, it encourages them to do the same
