The NFEC believes that when Southold's population of 22,000 people grows to about 30,000 people, the desirability of Southold will suffer and that the economic engine of tourism and second homes will lose vitality. With one eye on the present -- looking at what is being done -- and another eye on the future -- on what should be done -- the NFEC has several initiatives underway.
